Sardar Shah meeting with SEF MD

Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Minister Education and Literacy Sindh along with Mr. Zahid Ali Abbasi Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department visited Sindh Education Foundation Head Office. Honorable Minister and Secretary were welcomed by Mr. Abdul Kabir Kazi, Managing Director, SEF along with team. The SEF Management briefed them on the Foundation’s portfolio, progress and the challenges. Syed Sardar Ali Shah appreciated the efforts and contribution of the Foundation in promotion and development of education in the province and lauded the Public-Private Partnership modality of SEF. The Minister laid emphasis on the manifesto of the Government and urged the Secretary SE&LD and MD SEF to pursue the vision of the political leadership in meeting out the constitutional obligation of providing free and compulsory education for all. He specifically emphasized on the need to increase efforts for the ‘Alternate Learning Pathways’ under the Non-Formal Education portfolio of the province specifically for catering the out-of-school children in Sindh. He shared the efforts being made by the department for creation of a ‘Non-Formal Education Authority’ in Sindh to regulate the NFE sector. He appreciated SEF for having an appropriate portfolio of ‘post-primary’ schools and suggested to upgrade and convert maximum schools from primary to post-primary. He emphasized on SE&LD and SEF to engage with stakeholders, including Education Management Partners for mapping and consolidating the NFE interventions, promoting STEM education by way of organizing competitions and exhibitions throughout the province and creating synergies within the various institutions under SE&LD for more focused efforts in the sector. He also appreciated the SEF’s inhouse training and assessment efforts for improving the quality of teaching-learning at Foundation Assisted Schools. Both dignitaries lauded the progress made by SEF with such a lean team and assured full support to Foundation.
